Competition cooking

Up to three groups are pitted against each other in a competition cooking event where each group receives a basket with identical ingredients. The teams work against time as 15 minutes are given for strategizing and 2 hours to complete the full course as set out in the menu. The idea is to work with the ingredients supplied and use creativity to get to a stunning end result. Each group works at a separate counter and even the aprons are colour coded for easy identification of team members.

A counter assistant is assigned to each counter and does the assessment of the group’s progress, way of working, neatness, and utilization of time and ingredients. The class instructor does a final assessment and the winning team is selected by a panel. The client decides what the award will be. We supply the venue, ingredients, and aprons for the duration of the competition, as well as light beverages.
