Portuguese cooking teambuilding
If it is that time of year when you want to give your staff a little motivation or teambuilding, how about this new idea for a change. It is loosely based on the TV program, Ready, steady, cook! and this is how it works. Your participating staff members are split up into between two and four teams each consisting of between 6 and 12 team members. Each team is given coloured aprons so that they mar easily be identified as a team. On arrival at our premises our instructor will run through the workings of the kitchen and the criteria for judging. Portuguese cooking teambuilding is just one of the many cooking competitions in which your staff can participate. Each team has to prepare the same six dishes, and in the Portuguese cooking teambuilding module the six dishes are:
- Chicken livers - with a spicy peri-peri sauce, a delicious starter.
- Caldo verde - the most popular Portuguese vegetable soup, made with kale
- Chicken peri-peri - marinated whole chickens in a home-made peri-peri sauce, and roasted.
- Portuguese salad - combination of grilled peppers and tomatoes, with cucumber, dressed with oil and vinegar.
- Bay leaf potatoes - one of the most popular side dishes in Portugal, perfect with roasts and poultry.
- Crème caramel - the Portuguese way, in a ring mould.
Our Portuguese cooking teambuilding exercise is a fun way for your staff to spend four hours in which they not only learn how to work as a team, but also go home having learned how to cook several Portuguese dishes. When you consider that some of them may never have cooked before, this can be quite a way of throwing them in the deep end. Your staff will remember their
Portuguese cooking teambuilding exercise and the fun they had participating in it.
