Cooking School
Whether you are an amateur cook or a cultivated chef, enrolling in a cooking school course is sure to teach you something. Cooking classes usually begins with the basics, and as your skills and knowledge evolves, so does the teachings until you’ve eventually learnt the fine art of cooking, creating your own innovative culinary masterpieces. No longer is cooking seen as an obligation but rather as something to be enjoyed. This is evident in the rising number of cooking schools, books, TV channels, and cooking programmes.
Two of the most celebrated and renowned chefs currently enticing the world of cooking is Jamie Oliver and Bill Granger. As a self-taught cook, Bill Granger, an Australian, is a restaurateur and food writer occupying the city of Sydney where three of his restaurants are located. Although beginning his life after school as an art student, it was his role as waiter which slowly but surely fuelled his passion for food and ultimately led to his TV series “Bill’s Food” and number of cookbooks.
Jamie Oliver on the other hand grew up working in the kitchen of his parents’ pub. From the get go this zealous chef has taken the world by storm with his hit TV series “The Naked Chef”. From there on followed a string of cookbooks, TV shows, and his cooking school which was filmed in the 2002 documentary series “Jamie’s Kitchen” where he trained a group of disadvantaged youths to work in his restaurant Fifteen. His style is described as fresh due to the fact that a lot of his ingredients are organic, and both he and Bill Granger have played a major role in the world of food, inspiring many to take a step into the direction of the kitchen, or enrolling at a local cooking school.
